Zeitwinkel is a Swiss watch company that manufactures its own watch movements and houses them in distinctive, elegant timepieces. A Zeitwinkel watch is imbued with a wonderful timeless quality conferring a lifetime of ownership delight and tastefully sidestepping obsolescence through thoughtful design.
The company, based in St.Imier, Switzerland established its own manufacture from the outset, crafting watches with matchless movements. The unusual name of the brand, roughly translated as ‘Time Angle’ refers to the relationship between the relative position of the sun and time.
The 273 features a superb galvanic silver dial and highly polished hands.
Powering the 273° is the familiar Zeitwinkel caliber ZW0103 manufacture movement first seen on the original 273° model. The self-winding movement includes a three-quarter plate, peerless finissage and exquisitely adorned German silver plates. I have discussed much about this movement previously when I reviewed the first examples of the 273°.
The casing for the Zeitwinkel 273° was developed over a period of 14 months in precise accordance with the Zeitwinkel caliber ZW0103 date movement. It is constructed of 1.4435 steel alloy which, due to its high resistance to intercrystalline corrosion and non-oxidized acids, protects the valuable manufacture movement especially well.
